Online English Learning Efficiency of Adults from Different Ages in Mainland, China

With the development of globalization and technology, people in China desire to acquire authentic English, for study, foreign tourism, and academic exchanges. Not only the teenage students, but also the adults have a strong desire to study English. There is no denying that online English education is one of the most economical and practical approaches to study English. This paper explores the online English learning efficiency of adults among different ages. The research focuses on three age groups of adults, which are 18-28 years old, 28-45 years old and 45-60 years old. Through a series of online questionnaires and group discussions with online English teachers and students, it is found that the adults from 28 to 45 years old are the most effective group in online English learning than that of age group of 18-28 and 45-60. This research has a significant impact on the learning habits and characteristics of adults from different ages, which can guide them to select the best English learning methods. It also fills the gap of online English Learning efficiency of adults from different ages.
