Design of Dual Band Monopole Antenna for WBAN Communication

This paper offers, a novel, small size on body dual-band operated monopole antenna having ground slots structures with favored dual-band characteristics are offered. The projected antenna operates with an impedance bandwidth of 3.33 percent and 16 percent respectively on the ISM (2.4-2.48 GHz) and WLAN band (5.1-5.9 GHz). With a compact scale of 0.20λ×0.28λ×0.016λ, the antenna is design on an FR-4 dielectric material. The projected antenna gets the good gain and dual-band characteristics using incorporation of a ring resonator, loading of the open stub, and use of defected ground structure. The antenna is successfully added to the phantom of the body, confirming the appropriate SAR values for both working resonance band. The projected antenna is suitable for biomedical applications, communication services, Wi-Fi communication, and military applications.
