Improved and Efficient Optical-NoC Architecture

The optical-NoCs are becoming more and more dominating in the case of multicore architectures. In recent years we are moving fast from wire interconnects to optical interconnects as they are more reliable and providing more efficient results. In this work, we have introduced our new architecture to eliminate our previous work limitation. We have proposed new architecture to provide a better waveguide network between nodes. In addition to our previous work, we have also introduced a new routing algorithm that works on this architecture and provides deadlock-free routing among nodes. Furthermore, simulation results show that the proposed new methodology provides better results in terms of high reliability, less hop count, and up to 100% link utilization. These results are conducted on different architecture from 3X3 to 15X15 optical-NoC. It follows that the proposed methodology provides significant results as well as removes the limitation of our previous work.
