Radar of Complex UAV Detection and Neutralization

Potentially dangerous situations associated with unauthorized use of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV s) have been identified. The requirements for a radar designed for all-weather and round-the-clock detection of UAVs, including in conditions of intense reflections from buildings and underlying surface, were formulated. The structure and variants of the UAV detection and neutralization complex are presented, it includes a highly informative panoramic view radar as a primary detection sensor. The tasks and basic technical requirements for the mobile version of this complex are formulated. Examples of known radar solutions for UAVs detection are given. The main contradictions of requirements for the UAV detection radar are formulated. The solution of these contradictions, based on use of radar with ultrashort-pulse probing signals with radiofrequency filling, is given. The features and advantages of ultrashort-pulse radar (USPR) are considered. The characteristics of an USPR prototype for detecting UAVs and the results of demonstration tests, including in urban areas, are presented.
