A small probe antenna for the self-check of a receiver in a monopulse planar array

A self-check of the sum and difference channels of a monopulse receiver can be realized using a small probe antenna placed at the proper position in the monopulse planar array. This results in a convenient operation because the planar array might not point at the aligning tower when self-checking. An example calculation is given.<
