System Nonlinear Analysis for Frequency-Modulated Gyroscope

This paper proposes a whole analysis about system nonlinear model for frequency-modulated (FM) gyroscope, which gives us a clearly guidance for different noise and how to improve final performance. This model treats the symmetric structure gyroscope as a time-varying system and decomposes the physical system into phase and amplitude modulation paths to predict the frequency noise. Furthermore, the model also reveals the relationships about mechanical displacement noise, mechanical additional loop noise and design specifications, which can serve as a guideline for performance optimization. After that, we can clearly understand the performance indicators required to design the circuit. This work offers some theory instructions to quantitate different physical noise. Besides, this model is also applicative in microelectromechanical system (MEMS) oscillators and MEMS oscillator-based sensors.
