Research on equivalent circuit Model of Lithium-ion battery for electric vehicles

For the optimal management of electric vehicle lithium-ion battery, it is of great significance to establish equivalent circuit model to study the charging and discharging behavior of the battery. In this paper, Rint, Thevenin, second order RC and PNGV models are analyzed, and their advantages and disadvantages are compared in the perspectives of model structure, physical meanings and differential equations. The parameters of the model are identified by HPPC experiment, and the simulation system is built by using Simulink. The results show that the four models can describe the dynamic changes of battery charging and discharging process. The PNGV model has higher accuracy and the average terminal voltage error is 0.0052v.
