Design of 2.45GHz High-gain Antenna that Based on Air-ground Ad-hoc Network

For the needs of wireless ad hoc network nodes to achieve long-distance communication, a four-element microstrip array antenna with high gain and broadband is designed, and studied its array design method. The antenna design is carried out in ANSYS HFSS simulation software, and continuous simulation and optimization. The antenna array measure and simulation results are in good agreement. The results of the measures show: The antenna array has a VSWR <; 2 in the 2.2~2.7GHz frequency band, relative bandwidth is 20.6%. Gain 11.8dBi at frequency 2.45Ghz, the size of each layer is 160mm×160mm×2mm. Combine air-ground integration wireless ad-hoc network platform for experiment, through the point-to-point communication experiment, the maximum distance of measures reached 879 meters, compared with the traditional 2.4GHz~2.5GHz antenna, the communication distance is increased by 6~8 times.
