Robust Speed Control for Induction Motor Drives Using STSM Control

The induction motors are the major motive force of industries. The emerging power electronics-based technologies have stimulated power engineers to design and use variable speed drives for controlling induction motors. In this paper, a super twisting sliding mode control (STSMC) is designed for direct torque and flux control for speed control of three-phase induction machines. Also, Lyapunov's theory has been used to secure the stability of the drive control system exposed to disturbances. As a variable control structure, the STSMC improves the robustness of the system exposed to modeling uncertainties and external perturbations. The simulation results in the MATLAB/Simulink platform indicate that it has lower ripple flux and torque values than the previous methods.
