The tissues that connect and support the organs of the body refers to soft tissues. These soft tissues include tendon, ligament, fascia and muscles. Out of this, tendons and ligaments are affected widely in many conditions such as unexpected trauma, regularly doing or practising exercise and performing sports activities. It may lead to tendon and ligament rupturing which slowly turns into serious medical complications in bone tendon junction. Meanwhile, tendons has the capability to heal itself due to the presence of collagen bundles around the junction, but this action fails in eases of serious tendonal injuries. Tissue engineering uses bioactive agents, platelets and biomaterials to treat Chronic tendonitis. Thus, soft tissues play an essential role in the rapid healing of injuries and performing our daily activities.
