Archimedes Spiral Antenna for the Microwave Hyperthermia

The Aim of this article is to design an Archimedes spiral antenna for the microwave hyperthermia treatment. The proposed antenna is designed to resonate at a frequency i.e. 2.45 GHz and covers nearly 100MHz frequency bandwidth across the resonance peak. It is design and simulated in CST microwave version 2016. Their simulated reflection parameter along with gain (1.76 dB), radiation pattern and VSWR (< 2) has been observed. After the design process of the antenna, its specific absorption rate has been obtained that play a key role in the treatment of the hyperthermia. Main tree factor that make the antenna applicable for the hyperthermia treatment is its SAR, Effective Area and penetration depth of the antenna radiation inside the phantom. Phantom that resemble to the human hand placed in front of antenna and find the required results.
