Finite-Time Fuzzy Control Design for Drug Dosage Delivery in Cancer Treatment

The rate of drug injection is critical in chemotherapy, which means that injecting chemotherapy kills cancer cells and kills healthy cells. In this paper, drug treatment in the chemotherapy process of cancer is presented as a fuzzy control issue. Cancer dynamic model with five differential equations considering the concentration of healthy cells, endothelial cells, cancer cells, and the dose of chemotherapy and anti-angiogenic drug remaining in the body as variables of state space and the rate of injection of two drugs as a control signal is considered. The fuzzy controller is designed in such a way as to minimize the growth of cancerous tumors. This design is such that the volume of the cancerous tumor has sharply reached zero infinite time, and in addition, the rate of chemotherapy injection has been reduced by about 97%, and also after a short time, the number of healthy cells will return to normal.
