Research and Implementation of Embedded Database Encryption System based on Lightweight Cryptographic Algorithms

Big data is a term that describes the large volume of data which can be analyzed for insights that lead to better decisions and strategic business moves. The IoT end devices are acting as a major source of the big data. The increase in the amount of data for the big data presents both opportunities and problems. Data privacy and protection issues are the critical concerns during the data gathering and storing on the IoT end devices for the big data application systems. Though cryptographic techniques are often considered as a effective way to ensure data security, it is a challenge to implement on the IoT end devices with the constricted resources in terms of process and memory. This paper presents some implementation techniques to optimize the embedded database encryption system based on lightweight cryptographic algorithms. We present the prototype of the proposed scheme and evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness. The experimental results demonstrated the scheme is practical and effective.
