A Brief Subset for Functional Safety in LabVIEW

This research was motivated by whether graphical programming languages like G can meet safety standards similar to C and C++. The aim is to give the foundations for this language in terms of functional safety. A similar approach, as in C and C++, should be chosen. In addition to the proof of suitability and the form of modeling, it places particular emphasis on forming a safe language subset. The main difference is the graphical modeling, which can be implemented directly in the development environment via activity diagrams and state diagrams. The graphical implementation creates other, but similar, restrictions on the formation of a safe language subset. In this way, developers can use a graphical programming language such as G in the LabVIEW development environment for functional safety. Research to date suggests that this approach is feasible.
