Discrete-Time Proportional Derivative Controller for Wireless Networked Control System with Network Constraints

In this paper, a joint design problem of communication and control for closed-loop wireless networked control systems (WNCS) is discussed. The discrete-time PD (proportional-derivative) controller is designed for WNCS in the existence of network uncertainties such as communication delay and packet loss. The efficacy of the designed controller is verified using True-Time software in the existence of communication protocol WLAN for DC motor plant. The simulation results proved that the designed controller performs efficiently in the existence of network abnormalities. Further, the power consumption parameter is also studied using a designed PD controller in the existence of communication delay and packet loss.
