Bluetooth-based Wireless Digital Stethoscope

The stethoscope is an iconic medical tool that serves the purpose of obtaining the first impression of a patient’s heart activity. Traditionally, stethoscopes are designed in a way that the auscultation needs the doctor and patient to be in close and direct physical contact. Moreover, there are several other limitations with conventional stethoscopes like poor noise cancellation and lack of amplification of sound. In this paper, an alternative design for wireless digital stethoscope based on Bluetooth communication is proposed. It intends to enable the user to record and share the auscultation results remotely to avoid physical commute to the clinic.
