Feasibility study of the bandwidth expansion for MACKEY S1 type with a short-circuit board

A meta-surface inspired antenna chip developed by the KIT EOE Laboratory (MACKEY), which integrates a dipole antenna and an artificial magnetic conductor, has been developed [1]. We devised the MACKEY S1 type with one short-circuited side and demonstrated that it could be made smaller [2]. This paper presents a study on the widening bandwidth of the S1 type.
