Design and Implementation of a New Type of Static Var Generator

In order to compensate reactive power and suppress Harmonics, improve power factor and improve power quality, this paper studies a new SVG System based on vector generator, completed the design of SVG's main circuit, main control circuit, LCL filter circuit, power module, protection circuit, pre-charging circuit and other hardware circuits, as well as the design of system software and control algorithm. The development and experiment of SVG prototype were successfully completed. The experimental results show that the system can achieve the compensation effect of reactive power compensation, harmonic compensation and target power factor, and verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the whole new SVG system.
