Multi-path concurrent transmission mechanism supporting multiple protocols based on IDP stack

With the development of network access technology and the decline in the cost of access equipment, more and more network equipment has begun to have multi-homing characteristics, and the advancement of IPv6 deployment has also enabled many equipment to support both IPv4 and IPv6. These devices can be connected to multiple Internet Service Providers (ISP), to obtain more sufficient bandwidth resources at a more favorable cost. Multi-path concurrent transmission technology can make full use of these network resources, effectively converge the bandwidth of multiple paths and improve the reliability and safety of transmission. There is already some implementation under different background. Identity Protocol (IDP) Stack is an important part of the identity-based space-ground integrated network protocol system, which is deployed in the backbone network. This paper proposes a mechanism for multi-path concurrent transmission at the network layer based on the IDP stack. This mechanism is relatively easy to implement and has good compatibility, it can support IPv4 and IPv6 protocols at the same time. Applying it to the ground-based nodes in the identity-based space-ground integrated network can effectively improve the transmission efficiency and reliability. The paper explains and verifies the proposed mechanism. Experimental results show that the proposed mechanism can effectively aggregate bandwidth and increase the transmission rate.
