A Satellite Attitude Determination Method Based on Error Compensation

This paper establishes linear state equation and measurement equation based on error quaternion, designs the multiple-sensor attitude determination model, directly applies the Kalman filtering method to perform real-time online estimation and compensation for the error of gyro and infrared horizon instrument, quickly completes the measurement error estimation of gyro drift and infrared horizon instrument, and finally realizes the accurate attitude determination of the satellite. This method overcomes the shortcoming of truncation error introduced by linearization in the nonlinear attitude determination system of the satellite, and avoids a large amount of calculation work caused by solving Jacobian matrix. Simulation results show that the filter method converges rapidly and stably with higher satellite attitude estimation accuracy.
