Message from the Interim Editor-in-Chief

It is all about humans' curiosity that questions and challenges the status quo of de facto decrees, laws and orders and, then, fires their surge for advancement and evolution; this latter driving humanity to a whole new level of co-existence with artificially living devices and machines that are envisioned to become humans' best friends. Indeed, as time goes by, electronic devices and machines are revolutionizing into intelligent entities having the ability to intercommunicate as well as to communicate with their surroundings including humans, sense and, consequently, generate, process and exchange information; hence, giving birth to a whole new worldwide benchmark known as the Internet of Things (IoT). Truly, the world today is witnessing the transformation of massive amounts of things into smart and connected objects with almost a unique functional aspect being to unify all of these objects within the frame of one common cooperative, digital and connected infrastructure where, beyond the possibility of being controlled by humans, they often autonomously interact to learn about their surrounding environments, achieve certain tasks, optimize processes, as well as provide constant timely status updates. Indeed, today, IoT lies at the heart of the world's fabric transforming it into one that is more intelligent and more responsive, which, in turn, is radically changing the way humans live and evolve.
