Path and Energy Optimization for Autonomous Navigation

Autonomous vehicles are increasingly prevalent in many applications and their sophistication is rapidly increasing. While path planning for autonomous platforms like robots is well studied, many platforms are now equipped with multiple sensors that should be considered in optimal solutions. We develop methods to solve a class of problem in which multi-variate optimization is used to address not only path selection, but behaviors related to the sensor and communications energy resources of the autonomous platform.
