Investigation on Graphene based Terahertz Antenna for Medical Imaging

This Graphene is a single layer, transparent and high speed material, which is suitable for sensor, medical imaging and terahertz (THz) applications because of its electronic, mechanical and elasticity properties of graphene. This proposed antenna is a three layer structure, graphene based patch, polymide substrate, 2D copper conducting material. The characteristics of proposed antenna are examined from 721 - 753GHz. This proposed antenna is demonstrated interms of return loss, VSWR, radiation pattern (E-plane & H-plane), Gain plot, radiation efficiency. The functional behavior of proposed antenna is optimized and observations are explained in following sections. The simulated proposed antenna shows 95 - 96% over the operating band. The obtained characteristics are return loss - 50.24dB, VSWR 1.00, gain 6.62dB and directivity 6.89dB, which are well opted for terahertz applications as well as medical imaging applications.
