Usage of RMarkdown and Bookdown for Educational and Scientific Writing

In this article we discuss the usage of lightweight Markdown markup language for educational and scientific writing. We start with a brief analysis of current methods and tools for document editing and publishing. Then we switch to the simple Markdown markup language and describe its extensions - Markdown Extra, RMarkdown and bookdown. The use of the latter significantly facilitates the writing of various documents for educational and scientific purposes, such as materials on practical classes for students, lecture notes, teaching materials, scientific articles and books.
