A Substrate Integrated Waveguide Based Sensor for Fully Charactering Magnetodielectric Materials

A novel microwave planar sensor based on substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology for fully charactering magnetoelectric materials is designed. Improved complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR) is etched in the metal plane, magnetic field and electric field can be effectively separated. By utilizing varied resonant frequency and quality factor due to the material loading on different areas, complex permittivity and permeability of magnetodielectric material can be extracted.
