Design of Low-phase Noise High-resolution Frequency Synthesis Technology in Microwave Wideband

The trend of the development of handheld electronic measuring instruments is that the performance is constantly improving and the volume and power consumption of the instrument is decreasing. Microwave analyzer is as a member of the handheld instruments, combines multi-functional instruments. Frequency synthesis technology is the most difficult technology in microwave analyzer. The paper introduces a frequency synthesis project that achieves frequencies soared up 20GHz on PCB, can achieve phase noise in the traditional SA(Spectrum Analyzer) LO(Local Oscillator) multi-loop by using single-loop PLL, has good amplitude output flatness also in the VNA (Vector Network Analyzer) and SA, and has been successfully applied to the microwave analyzer.
