Mathematical Modeling and Experimental Studies of Acoustic Wave Propagation in Anisotropic Medium

In this work, using Hooke's law and equations of motion for a homogeneous anisotropic, elastic medium, a spatial model of the propagation of acoustic waves in a capillary-porous material, in particular wood, is constructed. Theoretical and experimental studies of the anisotropic and elastic characteristics of the material have been carried out. Methods have been improved for monitoring the above characteristics using propagation velocity of acoustic waves, which should allow for sorting by strength of lumber of constructional purposes by an acoustic method, in particular, by shear modulus G. Presented is an axonometric structural diagram of the work zone and air circulation channels of the climatic chamber which provides the necessary temperature and moisture conditions for experimental studies. Also, investigated was the influence of the temperature-moisture field of a capillary-porous material, in particular wood, on the elastic characteristics determined by the acoustic method. The studies carried out in this work make it possible to optimize technological processes, in particular, sorting by strength of various types of capillary-porous materials of rectangular cross-section.
