Analytic Modeling Optimal Control With Kinetic Inductance Fine Turning Method of Pulsed Power Supply for Accelerator Magnet

This article introduces the analytic modeling optimal control with a kinetic inductance fine turning method in detail, aiming at solving special control problems of pulsed power supply for a heavy-ion accelerator magnet. The inductance of the accelerator magnet is time varying, unclear, and affecting the control precision. In order to solve this difficulty, the hypothesis of the kinetic inductance and identification task with control objective is presented. The kinetic inductance fine turning method has been proposed by the experimental phenomenon. The analytic model of power supply with the magnet is calibrated by identified kinetic inductance during the operation. In simulations, the kinetic inductance has been designed and assumed to be unknown. This method can identify kinetic inductance and control precision to meet the design requirements. In experiments, the current of the power supply can track two different triangle waveforms. The final identified kinetic inductance waveforms are significantly different. At the end of each switching cycle, the absolute margin of the current error is lower than 0.015 A, except for individual interference values. Control precision is close to measurement accuracy. Therefore, the excellent agreement between the results of simulations and experiments verifies this introduced method.
