Single Source Surface Integral Equation for EM Analysis of Complex Composite Structure

A novel single-source surface integral equation (SS-SIE) to model partially contacted objects embedded in dielectric media is proposed in this paper. In the proposed formulation, the partially contacted objects are firstly replaced by the background medium through incorporating the differential surface admittance operator (DSAO), and then the single electric current density only existing on the outer interfaces is introduced through carefully using the boundary conditions. After that, the single electric current can be transferred to the outermost boundary through recursively applying the equivalence theorem. Since all unknowns are residing on the outermost boundaries, the count of unknowns can be greatly reduced. Finally, a numerical example is carried out to validate the accuracy of the proposed SS-SIE.
