A Terahertz High-Gain Dual-Feed Reflector Antenna with Agile Beams

This paper presents a terahertz high-gain dual-feed reflector antenna with agile beams. By using intermediate frequency beam forming technology, switching the corresponding microwave digital switch of 9 GHz to depend which horn is fed makes antenna form two different beams. Simulated gain reaches 49.9 dBi at 2.85° with 3-dB beamwidth of 0.38° and side lobe level is 18.9 dB. The reflector antenna is fabricated and tested. Measured port reflection coefficient S

are lower than -15 dB in the range of 200~260 GHz for two ports. Simulation and measurement show that the presented antenna can realize two agile beams accurately pointing at 2.86° and -2.86°, respectively. This proposed reflector antenna with agile beams provides an alternative feasible and reliable solution for terahertz moving target and wide range communication.
