Parametric Study of Malignant Female Breast Tumor Size, Position and Orientation on EIM Parameters

Breast cancer has been a leading cause to women death poll all over the world for a very long time. This type of cancer is the second to lung cancer of which women are diagnosed every year. Since the detection of the development of the cancer cells at early stage can reduce the cost of diagnosis by 40% and increase of the survival rate, it is imperative to capture the progression at an early stage. Electrical Impedance Myography (EIM) is being studied in recent years in medical field since it has the upper hand of being non-invasive and painless and shown previously to detect malignant breast tissue. In this paper it has been found that EIM can be effectively used to detect breast malignant tissue regardless of size, position and orientation at 1 GHz frequency.
