Redundancy Operation of Modular Inverter Based on Si/SiC Hybrid Switch

Si/SiC Hybrid switch consisting of a Si IGBT and a SiC MOSFET achieves high efficiency and cost tradeoffs while offers high redundancy. Based on its redundancy, the modular structure can be adopted to further improve the redundancy of the inverters. In order to avoid the performance and reliability degradation of the Si/SiC hybrid switch based modular inverter when the failure of the power switch occurs, the operation status of the modular inverter in the fault condition is analyzed, and an appropriate fault-tolerant control strategy is proposed. Experiments validate the effectiveness of the fault-tolerant control strategy.
