Abstract:
In order to monitor and control accurately, existing power grids are converted to smart grids by introducing cyber network. This conversion also ensures optimal power flow and system resilience. However, this cyber network is prone to different cyber-attacks that can hamper the normal operation of power system. Despite the security measures in the cyber network, some nodes are more vulnerable in terms of cyber-attack. In this paper, a ranking methodology has been developed to measure vulnerability of various nodes in a power transmission network, which is exposed to cyber-attack. IEEE 14 node system has been used as test system to show the validity of the findings.
