R-R Model: Reliable and Reusable Component-Based Development Process Model

Software development methodologies usually comprise of wide collection of tasks that consist of communication, requirement analysis, designing, coding, testing, maintenance and support. The life-cycle of software includes all the activities right from its requirement gathering to delivery. This paper aims at proposing a new model, named `R-R' model for Component-Based Development. The proposed model follows an evolutionary as well as iterative approach of software development. `R-R' model consists of four heuristic quadrants and multi-sided activities involving multiple phases. Each quadrant performs defined activities including-analysis and specifications, design and development of software components, coding, archiving, testing and wrapping of components, domain analysis and engineering, frame working, assembling. Two fundamental approaches on which the proposed `R-R' model relies are: `Development for Reliability' and `Development for Reusability'.
