Chinese Experience of Stakeholder Coordination in the COVID-19 Crisis

The COVID-19 event is a severe public health crisis and it is a test of the global crisis management system. China has made great achievements in the prevention and control of this crisis. Therefore, these measures have great reference value for other countries and regions. This paper takes the COVID-19 crisis as an example and conducts research from the perspective of stakeholders. First, the paper introduces the stakeholder theory. Second, a stakeholder analysis model for the public crisis is constructed and the core stakeholders, secondary stakeholders, and potential stakeholders of this crisis are analyzed. Third, the Chinese measures of stakeholder coordination are showed. At last, three lessons are summarized: improving the crisis management capabilities of core stakeholders, guiding secondary stakeholders to participate in crisis management, and appeasing the emotions of potential stakeholders.
