Impact Damage Characteristics of Steam Turbine Bearings

In order to provide accurate input conditions for the design and installation process of steam turbine bearings system, finite element model of the simulation test bed shafting system was established. The design acceleration, 50% design acceleration and 1.5 times design acceleration were used as input loads to calculate the impact stress distribution of the steam turbine bearing. Cloud map and shock stress response history curve are calculated. The results show that the cyclic alternating stress in the alloy layer in the bearing area of the sliding bearing is the main cause of the failure of the sliding bearing. Under the design acceleration and 50% design acceleration shock conditions, the damage characteristics of the bearing are the bearing wear and the plasticity of the bearing inner wall. Under the 1.5 times design acceleration impact condition, the damage characteristics of the bearing are bush wear and plastic deformation of the pin hole.
