Pulse-detecting Approach with Adjustable PRIs Using Interferences Blanking in TACAN System

In wireless communication, there are signal fading caused by atmospheric turbulent clouds and signal multipath transmitting, which brings the difficulty in the detection process. To address this issue, we propose a method for detecting and sorting pulse sequences, which is based on positions of correlation peaks with adjustable parameters. First, a negative definite correlation signal detection matrix model is derived to detect pulse time of arrivals (PTOAs), and pulse repetition intervals (PRIs) are obtained accordingly. In order to filter out the undesired pulse sequences, that do not conform to the PRIs under the current work mode and other interference components caused by signal fading, we utilize the pulsed-interferences blanking technique. Meanwhile, a circular queue is used to solve the missing pulse sequences problem in the incomplete period. Numerical results show the proposed method improves the detection accuracy of PTOAs while enhancing signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and increases the receiving sensitivity of the system.
