User Experience Research on Product Design Evaluation based on Virtual Reality Prototyping

As a new type of virtual prototyping, virtual reality prototyping has been gradually applied in design evaluation for its good simulation results and interactivity. Understanding the application and characteristics of virtual reality prototyping in the design process is helpful in order to enhance the user experience and promote the iteration and optimization of products. In this paper, three questionnaires were designed to measure participants' experience in the evaluation of household product design schemes using different prototyping methods from five aspects. By comparing the significant differences in evaluation experience of virtual reality prototyping, physical prototyping and computer prototyping, this paper explores the evaluating items and contents applicable to evaluating design schemes by virtual prototyping. The result of this paper also provides new ideas for exploring user experience in the product development process.
