Land Surface Temperature Identification Based on Data of Landsat 8 on Batam Island

Key parameters of the earth's surface through the exchange of energy and water with air are called the Land Surface Temperature (LST). This phenomenon is important to be monitored since LST can affect the global climate.LST is one of the parameters of energy balance on the surface by using the band 10, 5, and 4, resulting in the vegetation index (VI) green level parameter. It is done through satellite image analysis to calculate semi-emissivity using the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) algorithm because NDVI is more sensitive to chlorophyll based on the contraction between the maximum absorption of chlorophyll, red wavelength, and maximum reflectance, infrared caused by leaf cell structure. So that the effect of the atmosphere does not have a major effect on chlorophyll scattering, the NDVI algorithm is combined with the value of the soil emissivity sensor to identify the Land Surface Temperature. The sampling method of LST is conducted by Taro Yamane on March 24, 2019 aimed to find the distribution of sample points to be carried out in the field regarding the results of the identification of LST Landsat 8 image data.Based on the LST Landsat 8 image in Batam Island on March 24, 2019, there were 6 populations spread over 36 sample points with the highest temperature of 33.49 °C, the lowest temperature of 18.23

C and the average temperature of 28.62°C. We found the correlation coefficient of 0.36263 for the relationship between identification of LST Landsat 8 images and the ground-measured LST as a validation, this value includes sufficient/moderate correlation in the Pearson product-moment.
