Finite Element Analysis and Structure Optimization of Mining Truck Front Bridge Cross Arm

Due to the increase of the wheelbase and the change of the steering trapezoid angle of the front axle of a certain type of mining truck, the cross arm needs to be redesigned. To determine the shape and material of the new cross arm, which was analyzed by finite element software, and the structure of the cross arm is further optimized under the condition of satisfying its structural strength. The results show that the weight of the cross-drawing arm can be reduced and the stress and strain can be reduced significantly. The new structure can use the method of plate cutting instead of casting and provide an effective design method for reducing the cost.
