Analysis of Galloping Tension Characteristics at Suspension Points of Continuous Span Transmission Lines

Based on fluid dynamics and finite element theory, FLUENT platform was used to simulate the air flow field around the crescent ice-covered four-split conductor, and its aerodynamic parameters and aerodynamic loads were obtained. The finite element simulation is carried out in ABAQUS software by using the UEL subroutine, and the tension characteristics of the suspension point are analyzed. The results show that the maximum dynamic tension of hanging point of continuous span line decreases with the increase of span number, but the influence of span distance difference is not significant. The maximum unbalance tension of the tangent tower and the tension difference of the tower itself will exceed the design check value under certain conditions.
