Design and Implementation of Discharge Monitoring System of Parallel Gap Device Based on LoRa Technology

In view of the fact that the current online monitoring device for lightning arresters cannot effectively monitor and judge the shortcomings of subsequent power frequency current technologies and the influencing factors such as communication blind zone in special environments such as remote mountain areas, a parallel gap discharge monitoring system based on LoRa technology is proposed. The system is based on the MSP430 or STM32 microcontroller and it is made up of two types of sensor node devices (master node device and child node device) and background receiving and processing platform. The system deploys the corresponding sensor node devices on the spot to realize the monitoring and transmission of the sensor data. The mesh network topology is used to carry out the relay transmission of the monitoring data in the ad hoc network and upload it to the corresponding background for analysis and processing. The system provides the data for quickly finding out the position of the action pole and tower of the parallel clearance device and the time of flashover.
