A Robust Model Predictive Control for Multi-microgrids Frequency Control

Frequency stability is one of the important parts to maintain the stable operation of power grid. The distributed generation (DG) in microgrid has randomness and volatility, which makes it more complex to maintain frequency stability. In this paper, the frequency control technology for microgrid including electric vehicles (EVs) is studied. Firstly, the microgrid system including EVs, micro gas turbine and DG is established. And the frequency control model of multi-microgrids is established, which is conducive to the reliability of power supply. A robust model predictive control algorithm with dynamic state feedback gain is then proposed, which is applied to the frequency control of multi-microgrids system. Finally, compared with other algorithms in simulation, the results show that the method proposed in this paper can quickly eliminate frequency fluctuations, and has good stability and robustness.
