Bus-bar Splitting on Enhancing Static Voltage Stability for The Base and Contingency Cases

To enhance the voltage stability of power system, the bus-bar splitting is employed on the look-ahead base case with a credible set of disturbances. The purpose of this paper is identify a `best' bus-bar splitting scheme for a look-ahead power system that can enhance the load margin of the look-ahead power system and ensure the load margins of contingency cases are great than a threshold preset by operators. Considering the complexity of online solution of the proposed problem, the group property of contingencies and a four-stage methodology are proposed in this paper. Results of the IEEE 118 bus-power system indicate the effectiveness of bus splitting and the four-stage methodology.
