Optimization of Electric Bus Charging Station Considering Energy Storage System

Electric buses have become an ideal alternative to diesel buses due to their economic and environmental benefits. Based on the optimization problem of electric bus charging station with energy storage system, this paper establishes a daily operation model of charging station to minimize the charging and discharging cost and the battery loss cost. Then, the day ahead charging and discharging strategy of the charging station is analyzed by particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO) while meeting the travel needs of the electric bus. In addition, the simulation results show the feasibility and superiority of the strategy, and the sensitivity analysis of energy storage system with different charge-discharge powers is shown by the case study.
