Design of Slotted RMPA Using Defected Ground Structure for Mobile Applications

This paper reports novel design of compact, low cost, multi frequency, light weight mobile antennas with DGS structures for optimization and normalization in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GSM1900, WLAN bands are proposed. Due to integration of DGS shape in reference slotted RMPA tremendous improvements of antenna characteristics are achieved. The proposed mobile antenna 1 shows two important band of wireless communication 1800-2300 MHz , 3475-6000 MHz and proposed mobile antenna 2 shows three important band of wireless communication 1880-2198 MHz, 2372-2500MHz and 3800-5800 MHz instead of only one band (2412-2448 MHz) shown in reference slotted RMPA antenna. Both the proposed antennas are designed using HFSS software and fabricated using lithography technique. Measured results are taken that are in close agreement with simulated results.
