A 24-38 GHz CMOS Wideband Frequency Quadrupler for Multi-Band Applications

A wideband frequency quadrupler with 45% conversion gain bandwidth is designed and fabricated in 65nm CMOS for advanced multi-band applications. By cascading two frequency doublers and an inter-stage matching amplifier with a Marchand balun, the quadrupler features 24 to 38 GHz bandwidth with a minimum of 0 dBm output power. The chip area is 0.6 mm² and the power consumption is 56-71 mW.
