Raspberry Pi Based Handheld Through-Wall Radar Detection System

Through-wall radar can sense targets behind buildings effectively so that it's capable of fulfilling the task of life detection. Emergencies that require urgent rescue, such as searching for survivors in earthquake ruins, can be solved using through-wall radar, which is of great significance to improve urgent rescue capabilities and secure the safety of citizens. Based on micro radar designing method, embedded systems and signal processing technology, this paper proposed a handheld through-wall radar detection device, which is based on Raspberry Pi and characterized by low power consumption, miniaturization, high operability and intuitive display. The device consists of the following parts: antenna, transmitter and receiver (transceiver), Raspberry pi, monitor and power supply. The experiment results indicate that the system can measure the real-time distance between the wall and human target behind and display the one-dimensional distance image on software screen.
