Broadband Dual-polarization Dual-dipole Filter Antenna Applied to Base Station

This paper proposes a dual-polarized dual-dipole filter antenna for base station applications. The antenna is mainly composed of five parts: radiator, parasitic elements, open-ended stubs, feeding baluns, and reflector. In the antenna design, the parasitic element and the open-ended stubs are directly connected to the low-frequency radiator, and the decoupling between different frequency bands is realized by using the characteristics of out-of-band suppression of the filter antenna. The simulation results show that the introduction of the filter unit on the low-frequency radiation unit tremendously reduces the distortion of the high-frequency array pattern caused by the existence of the high order modes of the low-frequency antenna. The antenna array consists of two rows of high-frequency antennas with a working frequency of 1.7-2.3 GHz and a row of low-frequency antennas with a working frequency of 0.8-1.08 GHz that are alternately arranged. This proposed design achieves good filtering performance and alleviates the pattern distortion.
