Low Loss Anisotropic Nested Hollow Core Antiresonant Fiber

This paper proposed a hollow core (HC) antiresonant fiber (ARF) with anisotropic nested elliptical elements inserted into the outer circular antiresonant tubes. The additional uneven nested elements with the proper choice of designing parameters have reduced the loss by more than four order. The numerical calculation exhibits notably lower loss over broad bandwidth: it is nearly 0.006 dB/km over the O, E, S, C, L telecom bands with the minimal loss of 0.0012 dB/km at 1250 nm of wavelength. The structure also offers better performance regarding bending and surface scattering losses over the telecommunication window; hence the fiber may found applications in fiber optic communication systems for its low-loss broadband transmission capability.
